3) How we use your data and legal bases
To provide our document-management and e-signature service We use your data to operate accounts, manage signatures, maintain audit trails, and provide customer support. Legal basis: necessary to perform our contract with you. To improve Skrivly’s AI contract-drafting features We use OpenAI’s ChatGPT API to help generate and improve contract drafts. Uploaded text is processed securely through OpenAI’s API to create contract suggestions. OpenAI does not use this data to train public models. We may also analyze anonymized usage data internally to enhance contract-generation accuracy and performance. You can contact us at support@skrivly.com if you prefer that your data is not used for product improvement. Legal basis: legitimate interest. For marketing and communications (optional) We may: Send emails about updates, offers, or new features. Display your company’s name or logo on our website or marketing materials to show that you use Skrivly. Share ads or promotions related to our services. You can opt out at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in our emails or contacting us at support@skrivly.com Legal basis: consent (for emails/ads) and legitimate interest (for displaying customer relationships). To keep our systems secure and prevent misuse We process limited technical data to detect and prevent fraud, spam, and security incidents. Legal basis: legitimate interest and, where applicable, legal obligation.
4) Documents and Signature Data
When you upload or sign documents using Skrivly eSign, we securely store them in encrypted form. Only authorized users with the appropriate permissions can access these documents. Skrivly does not access, read, or share document contents except where legally required or to provide customer support at your request.
5) Cookies
We use cookies to operate the site and remember preferences. Non-essential cookies (analytics or marketing) are only used after you give consent through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the Cookie Settings link or through your browser.
6) Sharing data with service providers
We work with trusted third-party providers to deliver our services, including: AWS (Hosting) Stripe (Payments) BankID (Identity Verification) These providers follow GDPR requirements through their own data protection agreements and are only allowed to process your data for the purpose of providing their services to us. We do not sell or rent your personal data.
7) International transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). When data is transferred abroad, we rely on the EU’s approved safeguards, such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

Signed documents: retained for as long as required to maintain legal validity, evidence of signature, or as requested by the document owner. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymized.

11) Children’s data
Our services are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal data, please contact us immediately.
